The present invention relates to trading systems and in particular to a trader-driven system for trading in a novel form of fixed-value contract. The system of the invention comprises a central host computer that is linked by a network such as the internet to a plurality of remote client terminals, such as personal computers, operated by traders who subscribe to the system. The system compares bids submitted by traders on one side of any such contract against bids submitted on the opposing side of the same contract, and, upon the occurrence of complementary bids, the system automatically executes a trade.
